ASSESSING STUDENT LEARNING
CSTP: Assessing Students for Learning
Teachers apply knowledge of the purposes, characteristics, and uses of different types of assessments. They collect and analyze assessment data from a variety of sources and use those data to inform instruction. They review data, both individually and with colleagues, to monitor student learning. Teachers use assessment data to establish learning goals and to plan, differentiate, and
modify instruction. They involve all students in self-assessment, goal setting and monitoring progress. Teachers use available technologies to assist in assessment, analysis, and communication of student learning. They use assessment information to share timely and comprehensible feedback with students and their families.

Other Progress- Monitoring Assessments:
In my instructing, I will utilize a variety of informal progress-monitoring and check for understanding strategies and techniques, including but not limited to the following:
-Entry-Level and to Self-Assessments - In order for my students to have the capacity to develop their primary role in their learning, informal and formal entry-level and self assessments shall be used.
-Exit Check or "Out the Do0r" Checks- Before/ as students check out of class, they will answer a question/ show work/ turn work in, to grant them an exit.
-Walk Around while looking and searching- During individual, partnered work, and group work, I will make my way around the classroom, checking and monitoring for understanding by quickly reviewing work, student conversation, and asking as well as answering questions.
-Recitation - During lectures, individual work, partnered work, and group work, I may call on individual students to answer a
related question on the topic at hand.
-Reminders-I will constantly remind students about reviewing and studying their notes so that they may have the capacity to freshly recall their studies.

Use of Technology:
-Online Grading System - I will be expecting to use an online grading program, such as Aeries, accessible to myself, students, parents/guardians, as well as administrators through the internet during my student teaching. This or another program will facilitate assessment data analysis and communication of the course progress with myself, students, parents/guardians, as well as
administrators.
-Quizlet - I will create flashcard sets for each unit and group them as a class set for easy access. Students may even create their own sets of flashcards for other classes as well.
-Video Recordings- With an ease of access to video recording possibilities, from cell phone recording to GoPro's, I welcome scene reenactments from Lord of the Flies and other works of literature.
- I will show students different online tools that they may use in order to help them. For example, the Owl Of Perdue to help them in writing, Weebly, Wix, and others such alike.
-Remind 101 - A safe way for teachers to text message students and stay in touch with parents. FREE.- All phone numbers are kept private. Schedule texts to be sent a day later. Messages are one-way, so students and parents cannot reply.
