Hello there and welcome: Administrators, teachers, students, parents, guardians, and all!
Congrats on navigating your way through the wide world of the internet and tracking my page down. I am Ms. Barbara Manrique, a Fully Credentialed English teacher and private tutor, jet-set ready to set your heart on fire in equipping you with not only English subject necessities, but romanticizing the actual subject so that you will grow to love it. I am proud to call myself a Titan Alumni having graduated from Cal State University of Fullerton <3 as well as earned my teaching credential through CSUF. I consistently try to stay up to date with news, media, technology, teach-knowledgy, and pop culture to most easily intertwine English with everyday student life. I will never, EVER, be known as "the instructor with the old, yellow, decaying notes." Here's to English and the rest of you! :)
Professional Goals:

-Developing my students as professionals, not only in the subject of English, but also in their conduct
MY GOALS FOR MYSELF:
-Becoming the best all around English teacher
-Updating myself with technology, media, and pop culture to more easily teach students
-Keeping an open mind to all ideas, learners, cultures, and backgrounds
-Growing wiser with each year of teaching to better contribute to teaching, that will in turn benefit students
-Dressing, acting, and being a professional English teacher with observance of no doubt in mind that I am what I teach
MY GOALS FOR MY STUDENTS:
-Consistently touching upon English grammar, examining it, and taking time to understand it
-Having students write not just when instructed to write but to rather write for themselves and for the good of others. This includes but does not limit itself to the following: A daily journal, dream journals, therapeutic journals, hand writing letters to others, keeping a pen pal in a different country, online blogs, educational online forums, writing for the fun of it and so on
-Expanding their vocabulary on a daily basis
-Having students use, but NOT rely on technology sources for assignments
-Having students read on their own to satisfy the thirst for their own interests and not just for school assignments
-Having students apply English subject matter to everyday outside usage and skills
-Having students understand the importance of English usage and respect for the English language when texting, note taking, blogging, commenting, posting, Facebooking, Instagramming, Twittering, and so forth
- Showing students that education and English education has its equivalence to fun
-Having students follow their dreams through education and understand that they have the power to fulfill their dreams
